Welcome to St Bernadette's
For some of you, this will be your first contact with St Bernadette's Catholic Primary School. We hope that this web site will act as a guide to the way the school strives to achieve the aims set out in our Mission Statement.
St Bernadette's is a "family" and creates a welcoming, caring, stable and safe environment for our children. It generates an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect where each member is valued. All of our children are encouraged to reach their potential, to celebrate their successes, while becoming confident and mature individuals.
Our School fosters an atmosphere of community. We value the crucial role played by parents as an integral part of our school community and we appreciate their involvement in the life and work of the school. We are also very much part of the parish communities of St Mary and St Thomas More and we attach great importance to the close partnership that exists between home, school and parish.
At St Bernadette's, children will be encouraged to be tolerant and sensitive to the needs of others. Through pupil participation, children are encouraged to develop their nurturing skills, from participating in school council to becoming a playground mentor.
Upon leaving St Bernadette's we aim that children will have had a worthwhile and enjoyable time, embracing all of the opportunities available to them, and to have achieved the very best of which they are capable. We will help them to develop the skills and attitudes which will pepare them to take on the exciting new challenges of the next stage of their education and to become responsibly aware citizens in a multicultural society.
